Bonus Content with Kathie Lee Gifford!

Hey ladies!

I still can’t believe I was able to host THE Kathie Lee Gifford on the podcast this past week. If you don’t know who Kathie Lee is, she has been in the T.V. industry for over 40 years, but is also a playwright, screenwriter, producer, singer, songwriter, and actress. She has been so deeply impacted by her latest projects and studying the original context of the Bible that it seeps out of every sentence she speaks.

At the end of our conversation she continued to display her passion for God as she spoke of His faithfulness to her and also so graciously prayed for me and the ministry. I hope you enjoy this special bonus content!

  1. WOW!! I had to turn off the stove and sit down for this one! Kathy Lee was dropping gems! I’m definitely buying the book and will watch the films. I want to know more about what she learned from the Rabbis.

  2. I want what she has. Life has been challenging and the peace and joy I once felt have been clouded with stress and tiredness. I wish I could fill up on Scripture like getting an IV. Just having it pumped into my veins til I’m healthy again. I have always wanted context when I read scripture. Like Kathie Lee I was reprimanded for asking questions in church/Christian school. It didn’t stop me but made life challenging. I love what she taught and want more. This podcast, like many others, has challenged me to keep going in my scripture study. Now where to find teachers that teach the context like she was taught since a trip to the Bible lands is out of the question.

    1. Hey Amy, thank you for sharing that!! There are so many great resources out there. I would look more into books by Rabbi Jason Sobel who co-wrote with Kathi Lee. Also, I have really been enjoying the Dwell app on my phone to help me listen to scripture more. I play it on my commute and while getting ready. While sit down study is important, I have enjoyed listening to the Word in addition. Cheering you on!

  3. I just went to find the podcast with Jonathan but instead listened to this episode with Ms. Kathie Lee Gifford. Usually I tend not to post but one of her final comments has me curious. It was about Jesus cursing the fig tree. I read this Scripture recently and had to go read a few commentaries on it. Not one of them explained this story the way she did. What she said absolutely makes sense – a whole lot of sense. How come I’ve never seen or heard this before? Was anyone else curious about this also?

    1. That was definitely an interesting explanation! So amazing what we discover when we take it back to understand the cultural context, I love digging in to find those original meanings!

      1. Thanks for responding, Emily. I saw where you suggested to someone else to look into books by Rabbi Jason Sobel. I found his podcasts instead.

Happy to be able to learn from others here. Thanks again.
